Kosciuszko school just finished their 2008 Annual Food Drive for Project Concern.
The food drive lasted for seven days. On the first day, the school held a kick-off assembly where they learned about citizenship. Students were asked to bring in non-perishable food items. When they came to the assembly, they filled their classroom box and received a citizenship sticker.
Each additional day, students were asked to bring in specific items:
- Friday - peanut butter
- Monday - canned Fruit
- Tuesday - canned vegetables
- Wednesday - tuna
- Thursday - any boxed item
- Friday - anything
The students collected over 1,960 items and filled 45 boxes! This was one of the best food drives the school has ever had. The second grade collected the most items and will have an ice cream party to celebrate.
