Park View Receives School of Promise Award for the 7th year in a Row

Park View Elementary just received the New Wisconsin Promise School of Recognition award for the 7th year in a row!


To be recognized as a School of Promise, student achievement on statewide reading and mathematics assessments must outperform the state average for similar schools. Congratulations to all students and staff at Park View!  The award will be presented next month at a ceremony at the State Capitol.

Cudahy Varsity Cheerleaders Attend UCA Summer Camp

From July 27 to July 30, the Cudahy Varsity Cheerleaders attended a UCA Summer Camp at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.  There were 14 teams and over 300 girls.  The girls had a great week of team bonding and fun. 



The numerous Cudahy awards were:

May 28 Renaissance Assembly - Celebrating Student Successes!

On Thursday, May 28 at 9 a.m., Cudahy High School will be celebrating its annual Renaissance Assembly in the high school auditorium.  At the assembly, more than 300 Cudahy High School students will be honored for their work in the classroom throughout the 2008-2009 school year.  To receive an invitation to the assembly, students must have either earned a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or achieved perfect attendance for each of the first three quarters of the school year.


Winners of the Renaissance student of the month awards during this school year will also receive an invitation to the assembly.  Renaissance students of the month are nominated by Cudahy High School faculty and staff members.  Congratulations to the following students who have been awarded student of the month at some point during the 2008-2009 school year:


  • Seniors: Alisa Damitz, Larry Savage, Samantha Polfer, Samantha Homa, Kamille Bustos, Nickie Brister, and Amanda Janik

  • Juniors: Alex Hernandez, Alexis Rivera, Derek Puczylowski, Nick Burmester, Lynn Sobota, Virginia Kibler, and Samantha Farvour

  • Sophomores: Maricruz Sanchez, Ken Bustos, Matt Richardson, Katie Lutomski, Zach Plachinski, Mitchell Stahl, and Thong Xiong

  • Freshmen: Ken Ewert, Jose Lopez, Ina Tahiraj, Samantha Hoeft, Kyle Leannah, Joey Rogers, and Gillian Miner

The mission of Cudahy High School’s Renaissance Program is to recognize the efforts of students in the classroom.  In addition to the year-end assembly, Renaissance rewards students every quarter if the students earn a GPA of 3.0 or higher, if they achieve perfect attendance, or if they improve their GPA by .5 or more from the previous quarter.


Together, we celebrate with and recognize the accomplishments of our students. 


 

2009 Wisconsin All-State Scholars Program Nominees

Each year, high schools in Wisconsin nominate graduating seniors of their choice for a very prestigious distinction title, The Wisconsin All-State Scholars award. Over one hundred students traditionally receive scholarships. Recipients are chosen based on their overall grade point averages and ACT/SAT test score.


This year, the nominees for the Wisconsin All-State Scholars Program at Cudahy High School are Alisa Damitz and Luke Demos


Both of Alisa and Luke were honored with the All-State Scholars award given at a very nice ceremony at the Monona Terrace in Madison.  Congratulations and Good Luck!

2009 Woodland Conference Awards

At the end of April, the Woodland Conference recognized its top eight students from each school at its annual academic banquet. Representing Cudahy High School were Amarildo Ademaj, Kamille Bustos, Emily Casey, Alisa Damitz, Luke Demos, Rebecca Heian, Samantha Homa, and Donnavon Swirth. These students finished with the top eight grade point averages in this year's graduating class. Congratulations!

General Mitchell Students WIN Hang Tough Contest!

Their video, “Shoe Sale,” has won the “Time Warner Cable Hang Tough Video Contest.”  There were over 1,500 students involved from 65 schools.  600 entries were submitted and out of the twenty finalists General Mitchell won first place. The winners were announced on April 30 at the Coulee center in MATC.  Way to go guys!  Have fun in New York!


Kudos to Mrs. Mendola and Mrs. Palkowski for the extra time and effort they put in helping the students achieve these great things.

37 Students Receive Attendence Awards at Lincoln School

Carly Ademi Recognized for Volunteer Service

Carly Ademi, of Cudahy, WI has been honored for her exemplary volunteer service with a President’s Volunteer Service Award.


The award, which recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their communities and their country, was presented by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program on behalf of the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation.  Carly, a junior at Cudahy High School, participated in the Spirit of Community program this year as a representative of Cudahy High School.

“The recipients of these awards vividly demonstrate that young people across America are making remarkable contributions to the health and vitality of their communities,” said John R. Strangfeld, chairman and CEO of Prudential Financial.  “They truly deserve all of the praise and encouragement we can give them.”

Cudahy Teacher Receives Chamber of Commerce's 2009 Educational Advancement Award

Diane Hoblitzell, third grade teacher at J.E. Jones, will receive the Chamber of Commerce's 2009 Educational Advancement Award.  This award will be presented on March 20, 2009 at the Annual Cudahy Chamber of Commerce dinner.

Diane was selected for the award because she exemplifies the best of all of us.  She is an outstanding educator who recently completed her 40th year in the District.  Congratulations!

Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Mr. Josh Beck, Cudahy High School English teacher. Not only was he voted by his peers as the 2007-2008 school year Teacher of the Year, he was also recently named the 2008 Wal-Mart teacher of the Year. For his efforts he received a generous gift card from Wal Mart, and the company also donated $1,000 to Cudahy High School.
