Common Sense At The Pump

Boutique fuels are one of the biggest gas problems. Why do we need over 40 different blends of gas used nationwide. Nearly half of those blends are used in the Midwest.

It comes down to simple math; you have refineries all across the U.S.  You have only so much oil and have to divide that oil into 45+ types of gas, thus small inventories instead of a few type of gas and large inventories. Don’t forget we have 3 grades of each 45 x 3 = 135+

What is wrong, that comes down to simple economics; you have refineries all across the U.S.  You have only so much oil and have to divide that oil into 45+ types of gas, thus small inventories instead of a few type of gas and large inventories. This makes the oil companies of the refineries money at the cost of supply. This is an artificial supply and demand forced by the oil exec’s greed.  When supply can't meet demand in an area that uses a boutique fuel, prices shoot up.

If we eliminate the Mid-grade at Wisconsin’s pumps we can save on storage of gas that can be used to lower the cost for the remaining two types. Ninety-five percent of vehicles mainly use the lower grade fuel already.

The Gasoline Stabilization Act of 2001 calls for uniform standards for gasoline and diesel fuel throughout the nation, so what is happening? Not much the EPA and gas refineries are fighting this and winning.  That is why lobbyist are just plain wrong!

Let’s eliminate the Mid-grade gas and boutique fuels. California is looking at doing the same.
